THURSDAY PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: YME takes down Wabasso 7-3 in Section 3A tournament – Marshall Independent
MILROY — The No. 2N Yellow Medicine East baseball team defeated No. 1S Wabasso 7-3 in the Section 3A tournament on Thursday.
Cody Dahlager led YME with two hits and an RBI while Ty Schulte and Bryce Sneller each had a hit and two RBI and Nikson Knapper had a hit and an RBI.
Caleb Jans earned the victory on the mound, going 5 1/3 innings while allowing three runs on six hits and struck out three.
Colby Wall and Will Carlson led Wabasso with two hits each while Adryen Tietz had a hit and an RBI.
Carter Benz took the loss on the mound, going 5 1/3 innings while allowing seven runs on seven hits and struck out 10.
With the loss, Wabasso ends its season with a 15-7 record.
YME (15-6) will face No. 3N Lac qui Parle Valley today at 1:30 p.m. in Milroy.
