CEBU: In efforts to inspire budding athletes to continue pursuing their athletic dreams, Milo Philippines has launched a sports program anew called, “Mula Noon, Hanggang Ngayon—Tuloy ang Pagiging Champion.”

The advocacy of the program is to get the children into sports and keep the aspiring kids hungry for their dreams despite the sports hiatus caused by Covid-19 scare.

Milo Philippines hopes to engage the kids in Visayas and Mindanao thru these sports programs that are readily available to follow online on the company’s Facebook and Youtube page.

Assistant vice president of Nestlé Philippines-MILO Lester Castillo led the Visayas-Mindanao launching via Zoom on March 24 with the local sports media along with swimming legend and Olympian Gerardo “Ral” Rosario and Milo Little Olympics Most Outstanding Athlete and Southeast Asian (SEA) Games gold medalist Sacho Ilustre.

Milo has tapped notable athletes as the ambassadors of the campaign, categorized as the Champions and the Next Generation stars.

World champion and Tokyo Olympics gymnast Caloy Yulo, international multi-medalist and taekwondo jin Japoy Lizardo, volleyball phenom Alyssa Valdez and former PBA superstar Chris Tiu star are named as Champions ambassador.

While uprising stars Sofia Ildefonso of volleyball, siblings Anna Beatrice and Mateo Luiz Sarmiento of taekwondo, Nathan Ayson of gymnastics and Mikaela De Leon Martires of basketball are lined up in the Next Generations.

All these athletes, considered as the country’s sports heroes of yesterday and today have one goal in mind: to inspire young kids to start sports in a simple way of following online exercises.

Sports and exercise will help strengthen not just the immune system, but also develop the mental strength of children and youth.
“Sports nurture character-forming values that can be used by the kids later on in their life, may it is in sports or corporate world,” Castillo stressed.
