People can enjoy beer while throwing axes soon.

The Oak Ridge Beer Board last week approved a beer permit and manager permit for the 5th and Nine Axe Lounge. The business is located in Ridgeway Center in Oak Ridge at 118 Bus Terminal Road. The business had a beer permit earlier when it operated under a different name. It’s been open as an ax-throwing business since June. You can throw axes at targets at the establishment.

“It’s about as dangerous as going to the bowling alley,” stated Landon Brackett, the owner and operator. Joining him at the Beer Permit Board meeting were manager Jesse Isbell who received the permit, and Martin Baird, who compared the ax-throwing activity to indoor darts.

The 5th and Nine Axe Lounge has a lounge area with a pool table and TVs, its official website stated. It also hosts private events.
