DAVID KARIKARI: This is “AP News Minute.” Enough US senators have cast not guilty votes to acquit Donald Trump of inciting the January 6 attack on the US Capitol. The vote gave the former president an historic second acquittal in an impeachment trial. House Democrats needed 2/3 of the Senate, or 67 votes, to convict him.
Pro-democracy protesters in Thailand clashed with security forces near Bangkok’s Grand Palace on Saturday, following a day of demonstrations. The protesters threw objects of a police barricade, and white smoke could be seen rising amid the commotion.
Dozens of skaters took to the frozen surface of Amsterdam’s historic canal on Saturday. The deep freeze gripping Europe allowed skating on a small section of the canal for the first time since 2018.
