The former AMC Woodhaven movie theater, which opened as an Emagine theater in 2009 and joined AMC in 2017, is returning to Troy-based Emagine Entertainment in late spring.
Emagine Woodhaven, located at 21720 Allen Rd. (near I-75 and West Road), is a 10-screen luxury theatre featuring “state-of-the-art auditoriums, a spacious lobby, and all of the amenities moviegoers have come to enjoy at an Emagine theatre,” according to the company.
“We are thrilled to have this location back in the Emagine Family.” says Jon Goldstein, the Emagine franchisee who owns the Woodhaven theater. “We think this is a great market and will allows us to bring big Hollywood movies and some unique content to the community.”
Paul Glantz, chairman of Emagine Entertainment added, “Jon is a wonderful operator, and we support his vision for Emagine Woodhaven. The community will be well served by this exceptional theatre.”
The theatre features the latest technology in projection and sound equipment as well as a full complement of architectural details designed to optimize guest comfort. It is equipped with 100 percent digital projection technology and features digital 3-D capabilities. All auditoriums include wall-to-wall screens, digital sound, high backed rockers, and 46-inch row spacing.
“We are really happy to have Emagine Woodhaven back in our portfolio of theatres,” says Anthony LaVerde, CEO of Emagine Entertainment. “We have missed serving Woodhaven and the surrounding Downriver communities, so when this property became available, we jumped on the opportunity.”
The high-ceilinged lobby at Emagine Woodhaven features a full-service concession stand offering popular movie-going fare including hot fresh popcorn served in popcorn buckets, real butter, soft drinks, candy, nachos, pizza, and more. It also has a full-service bar with hand-crafted cocktails, wine, and beer.
